How to Care For Your Sensitive Skin by Kim Snyder

So you think you might have sensitive skin. Something as simple as strain shows up on our
faces when we are under stress, causing dry and taut skin ; pollution and cigarette smoke can
make a delicate facial skin gray and wrinkled.  Your skin might be doing nothing but reacting to
the world around you.

Sometimes can be quite difficult to determine what is causing your sensitive skin condition.

There can be many different factors that can cause your skin to become sensitive and is not
always that simple to find a solution. Allergic reactions, stringing, burning, redness, acne,
inflammation or oiliness can all be caused by using the wrong products for your sensitive skin.

If you are using lots of different skincare products this will only make the task all the more
difficult. Reading labels of the skincare products you used can help identify the common
culprits and help you stop wasting your money. It’s recommended that those with sensitive skin
try a product sample if possible before purchasing a full jar of cream. If your skin reacts to
products with lots of ingredients, you may need to consult a dermatologist to identify, the
specified ones that cause a problem so you may avoid them.

The best solution if you are finding your skin is becoming sensitive to the skincare products you
are using is to determine if there have been any changes in the products themselves.
Companies are known to “improve” their products only to make it worse for those who have
been using them for their sensitive skin.

Obviously if you've recently changed products and your skin has become sensitive then that will
be the first thing that you would look at. The most common allergens for sensitive skin are
fragrances and preservatives. If you use a variety of different skincare products or brands you
may be causing your all ready sensitive skin to flare up.

If there have been no changes in the face care products that you have been using then you will
need to look at other factors including your lifestyle and any changes that you might have made
recently.

Did you know that many skincare professional don’t have a clue about which ingredients cause
allergies or inflammations? Just because they recommend that you get a skin peel doesn’t
mean you really need to. It’s really up to you to protect your skin from products or services that
might do more harm than good.

Even products that called themselves hypoallergenic many contain fragrances or preservatives
that will cause your sensitive skin to react too.

If you are already using a variety of skincare products that are not causing your sensitive skin to
break out or react too, don’t change what you are doing just because some brand is promising
you the world. For sensitive skin the least number of ingredients are best, watch what you eat,
get enough sleep and water and your skin will stay calm.

Consult your dermatologist if you have started breaking out again and you have not changed
your skincare routine. She can help you find the problem and help you bring back your glowing
skin once more.
