Dry skin can be a challenge at times no matter your age group. Your skin may become flaky and at other times red and irritated or worse both at the same time.
What is dry skin caused by? Dry skin results from a lack of sebum or oil production. Sebum is made within your skin cells and it's vital for having healthy, elastic glowing skin. Dry skin can be caused by your age and your background.
Do you have any of these skin type characteristics?
1 ~Skin always burns in the sun.
2~Your mom has dry skin.
3~Even texture, flat finish, your skin may look flaky and dull.
4~Skin feels dry and chapped but blemish free.
5~Pores are very small.
Those are just a few signs that you have dry skin.
Dry skin needs a replacement of the natural oils which are best done, from the inside and on the outside.
Start by looking at your moisturizers, does your skin seem to drink it up? Then it's possible you need to add a serum as well to your skincare routine. Does your face feel tight after less than a hour after applying your skin cream? You may not be applying the best one for your dry skin issues.
Inside treatment could mean taking a hard look at your diet, if you are a smoker, under lots of stress. All these factors can add up to making your skin look dull and unhealthy.
Your skin is the largest organ of your body and needs to be nourished just like every other body part. Start by drinking more water, and making sure you are feeding your skin the best supplements including Omega-3 oils, vitamin E, and a complex B vitamin. If you aren't sure you are getting enough through what you are eating, a natural foods store will offer these supplements and others to help you nourish your skin from the inside out.
Nourishing your dry skin both inside and out is the best approach to healing. Talk with your dermatologist before any major changes to your skincare.
