Not so long ago men did not have manicures done, it was just not something a man did. Most
men would think or feel that going to a salon was just something a woman did, like shoe
shopping with friends or getting their hair done. Not a place a man would go, if anything they
went to their barbers once a month and that was just about it for taking care of themselves
outside of home.
Flash forward about 10 years and thanks to many TV shows that are teaching men about the
important of looking their best, men have started visiting salons to have services done such as
manicures and even facials. Now there are still men who feel that having a manicure is too girly
but not all men. There are still those that just aren’t comfortable in what is always thought of as
a woman thing.
Why wouldn’t you want your hands to look your best? Men like women who have a big event
coming up, such as weddings, first major interview want their hands to show they care about
how they look. Your hands especially your nails say a lot about you even if you may not think so,
dirty bitten down nails do not give off the best impression and into day’s world first impressions
maybe your only one.
Most men want a neater, cleaner, healthier looking hands and nails but may not be sure how to
get them; this is where having a manicure done can show him how.
What would he expect first time he has a manicure done? First off no matter what, he needs to
feel at ease in the salon of choice. It might be easier if his girlfriend or wife took him visit to see
their manicurist.
First off a man’s manicure is very simple and can be done in less than 10 minutes.
Steps to a man’s manicure:
1~ You would soak your nails to soften them up.
2~ One hand will soak as your nails would be clipped to desired length. Cuticle oil or remover
would be applied then that hand would go back to soaking and the second hand would have
the same thing done.
3~ The first hand would be removed from the soaking solution and a exfoliating scrub would be
applied to really soften up your hands.
4~ Depending on time or how dry your hands are, a hot oil treatment might be applied this is
just a option at this time.
5~ A nail brush soaked in the soaking solution will be used to clean the nails on both hands.
6~ Your hands will be dried off and any loose cuticle will be clipped off the nail plate.
Your hands would be massaged with a unscented lotion and your nails buffed up and you are
done!
Not all men would do this but a clear nail polish could be applied but not all men would do this.
As long as the manicurist treats him like a guy, give him all the information on how to take care
of nails and hands, he will be a customer for life. And also be more open for other services,
such as pedicures.
