What is the ingredient Allantoin and why you ask is it in our brand of mineral foundation?

Allantoin: Extract from comfrey used in cell therapy treatments, face creams and sun care preparations as a healing agent and moisturizer. An anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant, allantoin is reported to promote skin cell regeneration. It can also be made from uric acid, but the comfrey root type is superior. The finest quality allantoin is free of pyrrolizidine alkaloids.

It is a common ingredient in many high end skin care products.

It is important to note that allantoin has not been proven scientifically to reduce the appearance of aging, but the evidence doesn't lie. Use of products containing a sufficient amount of allantoin has shown to be effective in reducing wrinkles and rejuvenating skin by women's testimonies all over the world. When used in conjunction with other ingredients, allantoin can show significant improvement in your skin. It is not an overnight solution, but rather a great ingredient to add to your skin care regime.
