As summer approaches you look forward to bare feet and beautiful nails. Not only should your
finger nails look good but also your toes. Many people tend to forget that not only your finger
nails can look exciting but also your feet. So go ahead and make those toes shine with a
beautiful pedicure.
Take care of your feet: A pedicure is not just about nail polish but includes looking after your toe
nails and feet.
- Before you even start your pedicure fill a bowl with Epsom salt, lukewarm water and
body wash. Soak you feet in this soothing mix for around 10 minutes.
- Remove dry skin from your heels and the bottom of your feet, with a pumice stone.
These are wonderful things to have around and you can usually get them at your local
drug store.
- Gently push down your cuticles with an orange stick.
- Your next step will be to file your nails and shape them. Try not to use clippers on them
as this will result in thick edges and increase the risk of chipping.
- Moisturize your feet and apply your nail polish. Be use to use a little nail polish remover
on the your toenails so you can paint them.
- Keep your feet happy and beautiful with a weekly soak in lukewarm water and body
wash.
Choice of colors for toe nail polish: This will depend on mood, purpose and just having fun.
Sometimes the season can make a difference. For example in summer you can enjoy warm
bright colors like reds and oranges. Of course you can always “go green” with the many
beautiful shades of green available in nail polish, or just have fun by dressing up your toes with
some simply outrageous colors to really put personality in your feet.
Sometimes you want to be in with the crowd and want your toes to peep through your open toed
shoes with a trendy look. For those evening parties when you want to look fashionable you can
take advantage of the latest trends. Right now matte finish is in, and you can apply a nice matte
finish to your toes to match your finger nails. Metallic colors are also in fashion now if you want
a little shine to your toes. Hues like grey and navy blue is being worn by the “trend setters” and
looks nice in an evening setting.
With all these options open to you there is no excuse to neglect your feet and not dress them up
for any occasion. Your nail polish will obviously be influenced by where you are going to wear it.
If you are at work you may have to tone down your color scheme, unless you want to start a
conversation about pedicures.
On the other hand if you are going out to some fun place you may want to have fun with your
toes and just be free to be yourself. Even your toes can let your personality shine through, so let
them shine. After all you use your feet so much that they deserve a break with some summer
fun colors.
