Get The Perfect Pout With Lip Gloss by Kim Snyder

Lip gloss is a cosmetic product used primarily by teenage girls and young women all over the world to give the lips shine and subtle color. Lip gloss usually comes in a tube with either a doe foot shaped sponge or a brush. It can be translucent (clear lip gloss can be layered over regular lipstick for extra shine) or various shades of opacity, including frosted, glittery and metallic looks. The colors are almost limitless!

Lip gloss can make your lips look juicy and healthy but doesn’t have much staying power.  For a longer lasting shine, try this tip apply a nude pencil , the same shade as your lips, then use your finger or a lip brush to blend the color into your lips like a lip stain. Go back over your lips with your lip gloss.

Lip gloss can be lots of fun but what if you want something with more staying power? Than lipstick is what you need. Lipsticks are a gift to women who want  their lips to achieve a truly perfect finish on the face.

How does one do that? First, study the natural shape of your lips, identify what you want to fix, if any and decide on what you want to achieve and then proceed.

See below for some great tips!

Start off by taking care of your lips. When you are not wearing lip gloss or lipstick try to wear a lip balm with a SPF and before going to bed apply a super-hydration lip moisturizer. A simple trick to get rid of flakes is using a little honey and sugar. By using gentle exfoliation with a honey mixed with a little sugar and a soft toothbrush does wonders!

Small mouth with small lips?
Want to achieve fuller lips? No problem! These are easily corrected by taking the lip liner pencil just barely outside the natural lip line but only at the Cupid’s bow in the center. Trying to do more than that can be too much and make you look clownish. After applying lipstick add a bit of gloss just to the center of your bottom lip.

Large mouth With full lips?
So, how do you work the lipstick on your lips for a perfect finish? Apply liquid foundation makeup to the entire mouth, then outline with a dark shade of lipstick just inside the natural contours of the mouth. But not too dark, that will just make you look out-dated. Then apply lipstick of a lighter shade carefully and accurately within this outline. Subdued shades work well for this kind of mouth. Use medium toned lip colors and avoid dark browns, plums, electric brights or pale shimmer shades.

Have fuller upper lip?
Ah, to get a more even, symmetrical appearance, simply apply fluid foundation makeup to the upper lip. Outline just inside its natural contour and apply a dark shade of lipstick. Then outline the lower lip just outside its natural contour and emphasize by filling in with a lighter shade of lipstick.

Have full lower lip?
Simply outline upper lip just outside its natural contour. Apply a light shade of lipstick and in the center add a touch of lip gloss. Apply fluid foundation makeup to the lower lip. Outline just inside its natural contour. Then fill in with a darker shade of lipstick, using a lip brush.

Have a wide mouth?
Cover the corners of the mouth with foundation makeup or a cover stick. Apply lipstick with a lip brush, stopping a few millimeters before the corners of the mouth are reached. Be careful with super shiny lip glosses because they can call attention to your mouth size so, for you it would be better to use a lip stain, or anything with less shine.

Lip gloss is so popular due to its ease of application and flirty look. But if you have lots of wrinkling around your month you might consider skipping wearing lip gloss altogether. The reason being anything remotely shiny magnifies fine lips. A matte lip balm is a better choice for.

With so many choices of lip glosses and lipsticks there is sure to be a color right for you. Even a red!
