Simple Grooming Tips for Men by Kim Snyder

Being well groomed is almost a must in our society today. From job
interviews to first dates and everything in between, the first
impression is usually a lasting impression.

Hair
It does not matter if you keep your hair short or long, just keep it clean.
Men should wash their hair at the very minimum, every other day.
Wash it more often if you have a job that is dirty, such as an automotive technician.

Keep it trimmed. You don’t need to go and get an all out hair cut, you can
trim it up at home, if you are comfortable with yours or your
significant others hair cutting skills.

If you have long hair, use a soft bristled brush daily, to keep the knots at
bay. If you prefer shorter hair, use a comb. Use some hair gel for
men to keep the stray hairs in place.

You should get a hair cut at least once every 30 days, depending on how
fast your hair grows.

Facial Hair
Clean shaven is almost always preferred, but if you want to sport some
facial hair, keep it trimmed and clean. Every couple of day, trim it up
to get rid of any long hairs that are growing.

If you shave, do so every other day and follow your shave with an
aftershave lotion. Keep the stubble to a minimum.

Ears and Nose
Carefully use a q-tip and clean out your ears as often as you need to.
(Make sure you throw the q-tip in the garbage when you are done.) If
you need to, use a small trimmer designed for ears to trim any ear
hairs that are making their way out of the ear.

Same goes for nose hair. Keep your nose clean and use a trimmer to trim
up any nose hairs that are inching their way out of your nostrils.

Fingernails
Use a nail trimmer and trim you nails as they need it. Make sure to smooth
out any rough edges with an emery board. If you tend to
have brittle nails, you can use clear coat nail polish to help strengthen
them. It’s clear, so you don’t have to worry about the
guys noticing your new manicure.

Keep them clean as well. Wash your hands as needed, and make sure to
clean under your nails with a nail brush.

If you nails are yellow or cracked, treat the nail fungus with some vinegar
each night.

By keeping your nails clean and trimmed, you also lessen your chances of
micro-organisms getting under your nails and causing illness.

Toe Nails
Keep your toenails trimmed and clean. If you notice that they are yellow,
consider treating them with vinegar to help remove the nail fungus.
Keeping your toenails clean and trimmed will help avoid any hang
nails.

Grooming Tools Every Man Must Have

Soft Bristle Brush and Comb: Keep a brush and a comb on hand.
Brush your hair as it is needed. If you have longer hair, you may
have to brush it more often.
Hair Gel For Men: A few drops of this will help keep your stray
hairs at bay and give you a clean look instead of the “ I just rolled out
of bed” look.
Shaving Razor: Keep new razors on hand for a close shave. (And to avoid
those painful nicks)
Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer: You can purchase a small trimmer that is
designed to trim nose and ear hair. Other wise you can remove the
hair with tweezers.
Nail Trimmer: Keep a nail trimmer on hand to trim up finger and
toe nails. Use a larger one for your toes and a smaller one for your
fingernails.
