Holiday Nail Art - Thanksgiving!
Celebrate Thanksgiving in style...get holiday themed nails to go with the season...! Add festive holiday flair to your nails with some cool nail art..its fun, warm and delicious. If you are the artsy type, you can paint some thanksgiving patterns on to your nails; or if you don't want to work too hard, there are hundreds of nail decals available for every theme, including the Turkey Day.
Amazing nail art can be created at home by following some simple tips and ideas. Before starting, make sure that your nails and cuticles are in a healthy condition, not chipped or bitten off. Give the desired shape to your nails with a nail file and you're ready to start.
For Thanksgiving, use warm colors like orange, brown, rust, golden, yellow etc. Black nail polish is a must for any nail art (for highlighting and giving definitions). Here are some great ideas for Thanksgiving nail art -
1. Use orange nail polish to make an oak leaf shape (three pronged) on each nail. Don't worry if it is not too neat. Add some random blobs of color around it using contrasting warm shades. Now outline the leaf shape in black color and add a stem; any irregularities can be hidden under the black polish to give a defined shape to the leaf. Make the same pattern on all nails and cover with a top coat to protect it.
2. Paint your nail like a cherry pie. Give a base coat of rich red color. After it is dry, make three diagonal lines across your nail with beige nail color. Start in the center. Wait for it to dry and then paint three more diagonal lines in the opposite direction across your nails. You have a criss-cross pattern as on top of a pie.
3. Jazz'em up with rhinestones. Use a base of orange color, then paint the tips with any contrasting color, like yellow or beige. Use a line of jeweled rhinestones to define the border between the two.
You can also create beautiful nail art using your favorite color nail polish and some nail decals, which are high quality stickers you can stick on to your nails. There are different kinds of decals - water set decals, sticker decals and full sheet nail decals.
For using water set nail decals, first cut out the sticker with scissors, and place it in a single drop of water with the blue paper side down. The paper begins to curl up; Then pick up the decal with tweezers and transfer it to your nail. Slide out the backing paper and press it down into place. Hold it for a few seconds and then apply the top coat. In case of a rubber decal, simply peel it off the backing plastic with tweezers and put it on the nail. Press slightly and then apply the top coat.
A full sheet decal first needs to be trimmed to fit the nail. Then remove it from the design sheet, rub over the design using an orangewood stick. Keep the backing on until finished. When the transfer is complete, peel off the paper and stick down any edges that haven't adhered completely. Apply a top coat.
An example - Just give a base layer of a fall colored nail polish, stick on a turkey or some pumpkins or autumn leaves and then give a layer of top coat to seal it all in, and voila..!! you're done. You have fabulous nails that'll attract eyeballs galore..!
