You may not think it but shampoos and conditioners go hand in hand. You should never
shampoo your hair without using an good conditioner afterwards.
Why you might ask?
Shampoo cleans your hair by removing excess sebum (dead skin cells) and dirt that has
accumulated in your hair. By shampooing your hair, you remove the natural oils that protects it,
conditioner complements your hair and replaces the natural oils on the hair shaft.
Now an majority of conditioner are not going to repair your hair damage but they prevent further
damage and improve how your hair looks. By treating your hair right, and giving your hair what it
needs the most your hair will look and feel better.
Diet has a lot to do with how your hair looks over all but you can give your hair specialize
treatments that will help hydrate strands and keep them smooth and reflective. Glossy hair
equals healthy, well-moisturized hair, isn’t that something we all want?
Hair conditioners come in different types, the most common are leave-in, deep conditioners,
hair masks, at home glosses and you can pay to have a professional deep treatments for really
damaged hair.
There are natural treatments you can do at home with items from your kitchen. To condition
really dry, brittle damaged hair all you need is an banana! Mash it with a tablespoon of heavy
cream and honey. Mix it together till smooth. Apply it to dry hair from the roots to the ends, cover
with a shower cap then wrap your hair in a warm towel. Allow the mixture to stay on your hair for
up to an hour if possible. Rinse thoroughly with warm water then shampoo as usual. You will
feel the difference right away!
How to condition your hair properly:
1~Avoid putting conditioner right onto the roots. It can make your hair heavy, and makes it harder to remove.
2~Work it through your hair length carefully, If possible use a wide tooth comb and comb the
conditioner the way to the ends.
3~Never brush wet hair. You can cause it to break. Remember the comb picks that were
popular in the 80’s? They work great when working conditioner through out your hair.
4~Leave it on for a few minutes. Most conditioners does not need to be left on your hair for
more than a few minutes unless you are doing an intensive treatment.
5~Rinse thoroughly with warm water then with cool water. It closes the hair shaft so it lies flat.
Once the cuticle is flattened your hair will be shiner and easier to comb.
Also never rub your hair when drying it with a towel. You can cause damage to your hair by
doing so. Simply squeeze the excess water out of your hair then wrap your head for a few
minutes. That should dry your hair enough to comb it and go on to blowing drying.
