Watching you over the lip of my morning coffee cup
I watch you as you pace the kitchen floor
I start debating if I want to know why...
You've said nothing since you came home late last night
It's the third time this week...
Before I knew who they were
Now I don't even care..
You still pace as if deciding whether or not
To say what's on your mind.

I just watch
Already playing out in my mind
what you are going to say...
How you will start
By telling me it's for my own good that you leave...
How you won't be back this time...
How I know you would be.....

Signing deep inside
I decide its time to change this rerun episode of not caring

"I will be changing all the locks once you walk out that door"
Calmly taking a sip of coffee...
As I watch your face fall apart.
"Anything left I can't sell will be given to the bum living in the park."
I think he is going into shock...
Wow guess there is a first for everything
"Last but not least, all phone numbers will be change,
and don't bother our friends
they won't be giving it to you."
I think he is going to be sick.
In fact
He just got the idea he won't be living here any longer.

Well, saving the best for last..
I feel a smile coming on..

I go back to finishing up my morning coffee
Getting up
I slowly wash out the cup before leaving it in the sink
Turning to him smiling
